What size are the containers?
Our most popular containers are 5’ wide x 8’ deep (outside dimensions). The interior dimensions are 58” wide x 92” deep. Each easy-entry container accommodates an average of 1 to 1-1/2 room’s worth of household items, up to 2,000 pounds. People like these because they make it easy to keep things organized and since things fit tight, there is very limited shifting.
Our next size container is 8’ wide x 16’ deep (outside dimensions). The interior dimensions are 189″ long x 89″ wide x 88″ tall. Each of these easy-entry containers accommodates an average of 3 to 4 room’s worth of household items, up to 7,000 pounds.
Our largest container is 8’ wide x 20’ deep (outside dimensions). The interior dimensions are 237″ long x 89″ wide x 88″ tall. For even easier access, each of these easy-entry containers has doors on both the front and back sides. The doorway opening is 68.5″ wide x 78.5″ tall. The container floor is 5.5″ above ground. These containers each accommodate an average of 4 to 5 room’s worth of household items, up to 7,000 pounds.
How are the containers constructed?
Our 5’x8’ moving containers are made of plywood. They provide a very stable, breathable, and chemical-free environment for your belongings. Each container is also covered with an attractive, durable, weather-resistant cover. Each container holds up to 2,000 pounds for transport back to our warehouse or to another location.
Our 8’x16’ and 8’x20’ containers are made of steel. These durable containers are strong enough to hold up to 7,000 pounds of your belongings for transport back to our warehouse or another location.
How secure are the containers while on my property?
Each container door is constructed with multiple latch positions. You secure one latch with your own lock, meaning you are the only one that has access to the container. No employee will ever ask for the key or combination to your lock.
Where is the best place to put my container(s)?
Storage Valet’s containers can be placed in a location that’s convenient for loading and unloading. The smaller containers can be delivered anywhere a car can be parked (most parking spaces will accommodate up to two 5’ x 8’ containers) or almost any flat surface on your property. The larger containers can be delivered to any flat surface that’s large enough, provided there is an opening that is at least 8-1/2’ wide to allow us to access the space. The containers are all kept level during delivery and pick up (even when they are full!). While they are at your location the containers sit about 4 inches off the ground to protect your belongings from rain water.
How many containers will I need?
Use our Container Estimator. Or call a Storage Valet representative at 877-798-2538 to assist you in estimating the number of containers you will need. If you choose the 5’ x 8’ storage containers and end up getting more than you need (up to a maximum of 5 containers per delivery), we will pick up the unused container(s) and credit you back the full cost.
How long do I have to load my container(s)?
The beauty of Storage Valet is that you can load your container at your own pace, on your own schedule.
How do I keep items from shifting during transit?

Can Storage Valet help me load my container(s)?
Storage Valet does not provide this service. However, we can refer you to one of our packing company affiliates if you need one. Just ask one of our representatives for more information.

When do I pay you?
Payment for your move is due prior to us moving/shipping the containers to the destination address.
What if I don’t know exactly where I’ll be moving?
Storage Valet can store your belongings for any length of time, until you are ready for the final delivery. You’ll be able to access your belongings at no additional cost at our storage facility.
How long will it take to get my belongings to my destination?
Transit times vary according to when and where you are moving. Your Storage Valet representative can give you a better idea of the timeline.
